新型コロナウイルス感染症の状況に対応した
2021年度後期の授業形態および感染防御対策（ワクチン接種等）について

　新型コロナウイルスの第5波の影響で、20歳未満の新規陽性者の全世代に占める割合が2割を超えました。本学では、学生・保護者の皆様のご理解、ご協力の下、感染拡大防止の様々な対策を講じ（「学内における新型コロナウイルス感染予防対策について」をご参照ください）、現在まで、授業、課外活動、学生寮等における学内外でのクラスターは発生しておりません。しかしながら、緊急事態宣言の再延長も議論される中、感染者数が今後どうなるのか、全く予測できません

そのような状況下、この度「大学拠点接種」として、ワクチン供給の目途がたちました。新型コロナウイルス感染症の発症を予防するだけでなく、自身も重症化しにくく、周囲にも感染を広げにくい効果があるといわれていますので、学生の皆さんにはこの機会をぜひ活用してもらいたいと考えています。

これらの状況を踏まえ、後期の授業方針を以下のとおりといたしましたので、ご確認のうえ、ご理解、ご協力をお願いします。


〇2021年度後期授業形態について
　前期と同様と致します。すなわち、対面形式での授業を行うとともに、授業によっては、効果的な教育手法や教材を活かし、オンライン形式を継続します。ただし、9月22日（水）からワクチン職域接種を学内で実施する予定のため、授業開始第1週、第2週（9月16日（木）～29日（水））は、すべてオンライン授業とします。キャンパス内各施設の教育サービスもその期間は同様の扱いとします。第3週（9月30日）以降は、対面での授業等を再開いたします。ただし、今後行政からの要請や、感染状況の急速な変化があった場合には、対面形式からオンライン形式への切り替えもあり得ます。


〇抗原検査（PCR簡易検査）の実施について
　学内でのクラスター発生を未然に防ぐために、第3週からの対面授業再開までに、全学生への抗原検査（PCR簡易検査）※を実施する予定です。検査結果提出方法およびワクチン職域接種の具体的な実施方法は詳細が決まり次第、改めてキャンパスウェブ等でお知らせ致します。
※検査費用は大学で負担いたします。

＜今後のスケジュール（予定）＞
・	後期授業開始：9月16日（木）～
・	オンライン授業実施期間：9月16日（木）～9月29日（水）
・	対面授業再開：9月30日（木）～
・	抗原検査郵送日（予定）：9月13日（月）～（自宅に検査品を郵送予定）
・	抗原検査実施日（予定）：9月30日以降、初めて大学に入構する日の前日
・	ワクチン職域接種（予定日） 【1回目】　9月22日（水）～ 9月24日（金）学内施設で実施予定 【2回目】10月20日（水）～10月22日（金）学内施設で実施予定

　今後も授業形態や感染防止対策に変更が生じた場合は、速やかにキャンパスウェブおよび大学ホームページで情報配信しますので、定期的にご確認ください。また、各部署・施設からの案内など（海外渡航に関する注意喚起・施設の利用など）もキャンパスウェブおよび大学ホームページで同様にご確認をお願いします。

Class formats and infection prevention measures (vaccinations, etc.) for the second semester of 2021 under the current coronavirus infection situation

To all KUIS students, parents, and guardians:


Due to the influence of the fifth wave of the new coronavirus, 20% of all new cases have been young people under the age of 20. At KUIS, with the understanding and cooperation of students and parents, we have been taking various measures to prevent the spread of infection (see "Prevention measures for new coronavirus infection on campus"). So far there have been no on-campus or off-campus clusters from classes, extracurricular activities, or student dormitories, etc. However, as the re-extension of the state of emergency is being discussed, it is completely unpredictable what the number of infected people will be in the future.

As a way to deal with these circumstances, the providing of vaccines at the university has become a possibility. The vaccines are said to not only prevent the further spread of coronavirus infections, but they also make it less likely for people to become seriously ill if they should become infected. In addition, the vaccines help to stop the spread of the infection to others. I would like all students to take advantage of this opportunity.

Based on these circumstances, we have decided the following policy for teaching in the second semester, which we hope you will carefully read. We ask for your continued understanding and cooperation.


〇 Concerning the class formats for the second semester of 2021
It will be the same as the first term. In other words, in addition to conducting face-to-face classes, depending on the class, online teaching will continue making use of effective educational methods and teaching materials. However, as the vaccines will be given on campus on Wednesday, Sept. 22nd, all classes will be taught online during the first and second weeks of the semester (from Thursday, Sept. 16th to Wednesday, Sept. 29th). Educational services at each facility on campus will be treated in the same way during that period. From the 3rd week (starting Thursday, Sept. 30th), face-to-face classes will be resumed. However, if there is a request from the government or a rapid change in the infection situation, it may be necessary to switch from face-to-face teaching to online teaching.


〇 Concerning the implementation of antigen tests (simple PCR tests)
In order to prevent the occurrence of clusters on campus, we plan to carry out antigen tests (simple PCR tests) * for all students before face-to-face classes resume in the third week. As soon as the details are decided, the method of submitting the test results and the specific method of vaccination will be announced on Campus Web.
* The cost of the tests will be covered by the university.

＜Tentative schedule＞
・	Second semester classes start: Thursday, Sept. 16th
・	Online-only class period: Thursday, Sept. 16th to Wednesday, Sept. 29th
・	Resumption of Face-to-face classes: Thursday, Sept. 30th
・	Antigen test distribution (expected date): starting Monday, Sept. 13th (The test kits will be sent out by mail)
・	Antigen test: Should be taken the day before returning to campus for the first face-to-face class.
・	Vaccine Inoculation Dates (tentative)(Note: The vaccines are expected to be given on campus) 【1st shot】 Wednesday, Sept. 22 to Friday, Sept. 24 【2nd shot】 Wednesday, Oct. 20 to Friday, Oct. 22

If there are any changes in the class format or infection control measures, information will be promptly distributed on Campus Web and the university homepage, so please check regularly for updates. Also, please check the information from individual departments or facilities (such as directives regarding overseas travel, the use of campus facilities, etc.) on Campus Web and the university homepage.
