INTERNATIONAL STUDIES PROGRAM

Students acquire the language skills necessary to study abroad, as well as credits for a wide range of general education courses at overseas universities.
Take the first step toward free learning, whether at home or abroad.

Studying abroad is the greatest turning point in your life, where you will encounter a wide variety of people and values from all over the world. By living daily life there as a student, rather than as a tourist, you will experience the excitement, difficulties, and diversity of language and culture in a dynamic way.
The curriculum of the Study Abroad Program is the most effective and efficient way to transfer to an overseas university. Students can acquire the language skills necessary to study abroad and graduate credits for the first and second year of an affiliated overseas university at the same time to ensure transfer to an overseas university.

Study Abroad Programs

01

Learn a wide range of content in English

The Study Abroad Program is not about "learning English," but rather "learning content (departmental courses) in English. Students study in the same curriculum as local universities abroad, focusing on "listening, speaking, and using" university English on a daily basis.

*Only classes related to preparation for study abroad and employment will be conducted in Japanese.

02

1 year and 8 months at a technical school +.
Graduated from an overseas university in his second year of college

By earning the equivalent of two years of university credits in one year and eight months, students can transfer to an overseas university in the third year. By transferring credits equivalent to two years of university, students are able to study specialized courses immediately after entering university, effectively shortening the time spent at overseas universities.

03

English test required for transfer students

Each overseas university has its own English test as a requirement for admission. Classes focus on preparation for the TOEFL iBT®, and as your language skills improve, we will prepare you for other English tests (such as IELTS). This expands your choice of universities to which you can enter after graduation.

Sending out students.

There are many overseas universities where you can learn from the basics about fields of study that are not yet offered at Japanese universities. Why don't you take the first step toward a new future with us in the Department of Study Abroad in order to broaden your possibilities and future choices?
You will surely find what you want to do and what you really like.

I almost gave up on studying in the U.S. once.
Thanks to the generous support of the teachers, we were able to achieve this.

MORE

After graduating from high school, I was preparing to study abroad in the U.S., but the Corona disaster caused me to drop out. I gave up on the idea of going to the U.S. early and enrolled in the Study Abroad program to strengthen my English language skills in preparation for the coming days. The Study Abroad program offers a wide variety of general education classes, including art, philosophy, geography, history, and mathematics, all taught in English. Students are able to determine the direction they should take while acquiring a wide range of knowledge. In addition, the "Study Abroad Orientation" was very useful in helping me choose a study abroad destination, as it explained the study abroad system in each country, especially in English-speaking countries, and the key points in choosing a major at an overseas university. If you attend these classes carefully and complete your assignments, you will definitely acquire the knowledge and academic skills necessary to study abroad. I was also able to improve my English language skills dramatically compared to my high school days and was able to enter St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. I would like to study urban planning and community building, and acquire the ability to perceive society from diverse perspectives such as economics and healthcare. After graduation, I plan to take advantage of the "OPT" program, which allows students to stay in the U.S. for up to one year and work in the field they majored in at university. I would like to gain working experience abroad and grow as a person.

After graduating from a U.S. university, he worked for a major international accounting firm.
I am working toward certification as a U.S. Certified Public Accountant.

MORE

After graduating from the Study Abroad program, I transferred to Salisbury University in Maryland on the Eastern Shore of the United States. My major was accounting. I concentrated on my studies to qualify for the U.S. Certified Public Accountant (USCPA) exam and earned 150 credits in three years. The curriculum consisted mainly of exercises, with many assignments that had to be turned in before class, and some classes required reading more than 100 pages of thick textbooks. In order to complete the huge amount of assignments, it was important to be able to read English texts quickly and accurately. The reading tips I learned at Kanda Institute of Languages helped me a lot. For example, in the "auditing" class, four or five members reviewed the financial statements of a local church. It was an indescribably fulfilling experience when I was able to communicate with the members of the group amidst all the technical jargon.
This year, I graduated from university and started working for a major international accounting firm where I did an internship during the summer vacation of my third year abroad. As an audit staff member, I will mainly be auditing Japanese companies located in the United States. My goal is to pass the USCPA certification exam this year. I would like to work at this company for at least five years to develop my skills, and in the future, I would like to do work that will benefit the manufacturing industry in Japan. If you are not sure about your career path, please act without compromise, think it through to the best of your ability, and make a choice that will satisfy your future self. Depending on your efforts in the study abroad department or at an overseas university, it is not a dream to work abroad in a few years.
