STUDENT'S
VOICE

What is the unique learning experience at KIFL?

International Business Career Course, 2nd year

Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, International Social Studies, 3rd year transfer student accepted

Business is learned in the field.
This course is designed to help you realize your personal growth beyond a series of challenges.

I was aiming to go to university in Tokyo from Kyushu, but even after getting into the university of my choice, I could not shake off the question of whether what I really wanted to learn was there. That is when I came across KIFL. I was strongly attracted by the practical curriculum that went beyond classroom learning and the educational policy of using English as a "tool" to drive business, and decided to enroll.
The two years in this course were truly a series of challenges. The most memorable experience was the "Cross-border Career Seminar," in which we ran a local antenna shop together with high school students. How could I contribute to the team to solve a problem for which there is no right answer? I learned firsthand the importance of "shared leadership," in which all students take the initiative, and it was also a valuable opportunity for me to reflect on my own strengths and weaknesses. Through such field-based learning, I became convinced that business is honed not in textbooks but in practice.
In the spring of my second year, I was able to obtain a TOEIC® score of 895.
It was not easy to balance studying for university transfer exams with the busy schedule of seminars, but with the support of like-minded friends, I was able to pass the entrance exam for my first choice, the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. This course is an environment where you can continue to develop yourself because there is so much to do. Even if you are not finding what you want to do right now or are looking for an opportunity to get serious about something, you will naturally gain the ability to move forward. I don't know if it is a teacher or a friend, but you will always find someone who will push you forward - I think this is such an attractive course.
