Thai Language Course

Thailand is close to Japan in a wide range of aspects, including politics, economy, and culture.
We will nurture human resources to connect Thailand, the "Land of Smiles," with Japan.

Thailand and Japan have a history of more than 600 years of exchange in a wide range of areas including politics, economy, and culture. In recent years, the economic relationship between the two countries has deepened further with the entry of Japanese companies and investment. In the classes, students learn not only about the language, such as the unique Thai script and tone of voice, but also about Thai culture, which has had its own unique history without being subjected to colonial rule from abroad.

The joy of learning Thai and English in two different languages.
After studying abroad, I realized that my language skills had improved.

MORE

I enrolled in the Thai language course because of my interest in Thai school dramas and music. In class, both Thai and Japanese teachers sometimes explain things in English, which is attractive because Thai and English are improved at the same time. Although I started from zero in Thai, I even found it easy to learn Thai because the grammar is similar to that of English once you learn the unique characters and understand the "tone of voice," which is the pitch of the sounds. At a time when I was gaining confidence, I went to study language at Burapa University in Thailand. I actively interacted with Thai university students, showing each other photos from my high school days and enjoying shopping. Even there, if I couldn't communicate in Thai, I used English, listening carefully to what they said and instantly switching my mind to communicate with them. However, there were times when I just couldn't get the words out, and I realized that my vocabulary was an issue. Even so, Thailand is known as the "Land of Smiles," and I have fond memories of how many people were cheerful and kind to me. After returning to Japan, I shared these experiences with students and teachers from other countries at the "MOVE Multilingual Center" on campus. The joy of hearing stories from different countries and learning about different cultures motivates me to learn more languages.

MORE

I wanted to learn a language I knew nothing about from scratch. Driven by such pure curiosity, I studied abroad for about 10 months in Tapsaket, a rural town in southern Thailand, when I was a senior in high school. I was fascinated by the generosity and warmth of the people living there and their culture that recognizes diversity, and before I knew it, I was a Thailand fan. I enrolled in the Thai language course at Kanda Institute of Languages as a first-year student. I enjoyed my six-month study abroad experience as well as the classes given by the unique native Thai language teachers. While studying Thai and English at Burapha University in Chonburi, a famous beach resort in the province of Chonburi, I spent my days off riding tuk-tuks with my Thai friends to department stores and visiting fashionable cafes. You will naturally improve your conversational skills in an environment where Thai is spoken and understood. When I was able to communicate with students from other countries in Thai, I was filled with a renewed sense of the power of the language.
After graduating from Kanda Institute of Languages, he worked in welfare facilities and restaurants, and now works for a company that supports corporate YouTube operations. I am in charge of a popular program with over 700,000 subscribers. I am involved in everything from planning proposals to progress management and video editing, and occasionally participate in recordings. Recently, we have been receiving an increasing number of consultations from overseas clients, so I am sure that I will have opportunities to use Thai. Japanese people who can speak Thai are valued in all industries, so I encourage everyone to learn Thai and expand their own possibilities.
