STUDENT'S VOICE What is the unique learning experience at KIFL?
Overseas University Study Course, 1st year Aoi Koda from AIE International High School, Hyogo, Japan
I want to go there someday. In just one year, transferring to an overseas university becomes a reality.
I had always had a strong yearning to study abroad at an overseas university, so I went to a high school that focused on English language education. Although I had the option of going abroad after graduation, I decided to enroll in KIFL on the recommendation of my mother because I wanted to improve my language skills and build an academic foundation in order to make my study abroad more fruitful. I chose the one-year program because I wanted to turn my strong desire to go abroad at an early stage into motivation for daily study and determination to "make it happen. All classes are conducted in English, and the content is more specialized than just language learning. In the Microeconomics class, which left a particularly strong impression on me, I learned how to analyze social trends from multiple perspectives and acquired the ability to think logically. In addition, I became accustomed to the tension of taking the TOEFL test on campus every two months, which helped me steadily improve my score on the language exam required for transferring to an overseas university. I am currently living in an affiliated international dormitory, and through interacting with friends of various nationalities, I have naturally developed an attitude of respect for different cultures. My ultimate goal is to study filmmaking in earnest at a university overseas. In order to be involved in creative work that conveys messages through images, I intend to actively try to do an internship at a local film production site during my study abroad. This department is hard because of the short preparation period, but I am convinced that this concentrated environment is the shortest way to achieve my dream. When I first enrolled in the program, I only had a vague dream of "going to an overseas university. However, KIFL changed that into a realistic plan. Even if you are not yet sure of what you want to do, your thoughts will surely change into a definite goal through the study and encounters you have here.
