Students will learn Spanish, the international language of the 21st century and the official language of approximately 21 countries around the world, at the same time they learn English.
Students will learn Spanish from scratch, including grammar, pronunciation, and basic conversational expressions. At the same time, students study English in classes organized according to proficiency level, aiming to become trilingual. Students will also have the opportunity to experience Spanish-speaking culture by learning to cook local home-style dishes.
You can study abroad at a local partner language school for an intensive summer or spring semester (up to one month) or after graduation. You can study flamenco, music, painting, cooking, and other unique local subjects.
By graduation, students are expected to have obtained at least Level 4 of the Spanish Proficiency Test, B1 of the DELE Spanish Language Proficiency Test, or B1 of the SIELE Spanish Language Proficiency Test. Students will be able to improve their Spanish and English skills to a business level and use them to find a job or transfer to a university.

Under the guidance of faculty members from Spanish-speaking countries, this class is designed to help students acquire correct and natural pronunciation and improve their practical conversational Spanish skills.
The course will cover familiar topics such as food culture, differences in the educational system, and popular local languages. Students will gather information and practice expressing their own opinions and ideas in Spanish.
Students will understand European culture beyond language, including history, customs, food, politics, economics, and religion. By deeply examining the relationship with Japan as well, we nurture human resources who can serve as bridges between the two countries.

There are many bright students in the Spanish course and it is a fun learning environment. I was able to obtain not only the Spanish exam, but also the DELE, the official, globally recognized Spanish language certification exam, and improve my TOEIC® score to 720. I think the ability to study both English and Spanish is a unique feature of KIFL. My most memorable experience was studying abroad at our partner university in Spain, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, founded in 1495, where I participated in a two-week program. The classes where I learned about Spanish history and language from the local faculty were very fresh and exciting. After school, I looked forward to walking around the city with my friends and having dinner with my host family every day. There were times when I felt a connection with Japan even in distant Spain, such as when the daughter of my host family had studied abroad in Japan, or when we had a lively conversation about Chinese characters with an exchange student from Hong Kong. After graduating from KIFL, I would like to transfer to our sister school, Kanda University of International Studies, to further improve my Spanish skills.
