BASIL

BASIL stands for "Be A Successful Independent Learner". This is an informal learning programme for students who are keen to develop their language skills and to become better learners. The learning advisor will work to support the learner to make a learning plan and encourage them to think about learning actively. They will help SALC users learn HOW to learn as well as give guidance about WHAT to learn. The BASIL programme is a great way to improve language learning skills, as learners can decide how much work they would like to do, and how often they would like to meet their advisor. Working with an advisor is OPTIONAL, but it's a great chance to explore different ways of language learning. All students learn in different ways, so this one-to-one support can be very helpful.

If you are a KUIS student and you are interested in following the BASIL programme, please make an appointment to see a learning advisor. You can do this at the SALC counter.
