First floor

  1. The Gallery:

    Exhibition space where students' work is displayed. Building 8 event information is posted here, too.

  2. The Counter:

    The SALC Counter. You can borrow SALC study materials and equipment here.

  3. Study Rooms:

    You can reserve study rooms on the day, or up to two weeks ahead. Please make an online reservation at http://kuis8.com before using a study room and pick up a card from the counter before using a room..

  4. Advising Space:

    You can use these spaces to talk to a Learning Advisor or a Peer Advisor.

  5. Meeting Point:

    You can read magazines or chat with friends while enjoying drinks and snacks here.

  6. Cafe:

    Drinks and snacks are available here.

  7. ESPA (English Learning Spaces):

    You can chat with friends in English while enjoying drinks and snacks here.

  8. Interactive Space:

    It is suitable for studying in a group. You can share ideas for presentations with your classmates.

  9. Mini Stage:

    It is suitable for small group presentation practice. You can also enjoy watching movies in a group.

  10. Working Space:

    A printer and photocopy machine are available here.

  11. The Stage

    As this area has a large screen, it is ideal for events such as large presentations, movie nights and more.

  12. The Workshop:

    Some workshops are held in this area. This place is also suitable for group activities.

  13. Focus Space:

    This is a study space for small groups. The PCs in this area are all set to English mode. In order to type Japanese text, please use the PCs in other buildings of the university.

  14. Edutainment Booths:

    You can enjoy watching DVDs here.

  15. Focus Corner:

    This space is suitable for studying and reading in a quiet environment.

Second floor

  1. English Lounge:

    You can have a conversation in English with teachers and other students here and can also work in a group or watch DVDs with friends and classmates.

  2. Informal Gathering Spot:

    This place can be used as a gathering spot for events such as the monthly Afternoon Teatime and more.

  3. The Park:

    You can relax on the artificial turf.

  4. Academic Support Area - Speaking Area:

    You can talk to an ELI teacher about any topic you like. It's a great place to practice your discussion skills, build your confidence, and improve your fluency.

  5. Academic Support Area - Writing:

    You can get advice on how to write essays and reports here. You can make an online appointment.

  6. Consultation Booth:

    This area can be reserved by teachers to meet with their own students and talk about their studies. (Note: Students cannot make reservations.)
